The Aeron chair was designed in 1994 as a solution for the comfort and health of the person who sits in an office for hours and hours daily. With an emphasis on comfort, adjustability, and fit, the chair was field tested for people of small, medium, and large build.

To allow the user to sit in any position and do whatever job they needed was one of the major factors when designing this chair. It was made of mostly of recycled materials taking into consideration the replacement of parts that get the most wear. This chair was designed to almost be a part of the person who uses it. It is made of pellicle, a transparent material that allows for air flow. Physical therapists and orthopedic specialists were consulted during the initial planning of this chair to evaluate the fit and adjustability in relation to comfort and ease of the user.

The aeron chair comes in three sizes, small, medium, and large and two configurations, basic and highly adjustable. The basic chair has a pnuematic lift to adjust the height of the chair to the user whether they are tall, short, or somewhere in between. It has a knee tilt mechanism for comfort of bending and a tilt-tension adjustment that can be used for tightening or loosening the resistance when leaning back.

There is an optional lumbar pillow that provides support for the back, especially the lower back, which can cause a lot of discomfort to people who sit continuously for hours at a time. You can choose what type of casters you would like for movability depending on what type of floors it will be used on. There are several colors to choose from to make sure of a match to your décor.

The highly adjustable aeron chair is loaded with options to fit more users than the basic model and costs somewhat more. This model has adjustable arm rests, tilt limiter, and forward tilt. These adjustments make it easier to do almost any task you may have to do at your work station without all the bulk and poor coordination of a standard office chair. With this model you have your choice of an adjustable lumbar pillow or posture fit lumbar support.

The basic model and the highly adjustable model are made of a web type material which allows for maximum air flow so there is none of the typical sticking to a chair that occurs with most basic leather office chairs. Another feature is posture fit which promotes a healthy posture and eases lower back discomfort.

The aeron chair has a twelve year warranty/born on date sticker, which contains make and mode, date and time of construction, and factory order number. This information is what is needed to cover the twelve year warranty and this is only for the original owner.

Only authorized repair centers are qualified to repair or restore the aeron chair hence the twelve year warranty. Should you need to fix a used chair it would be best to take it to an authorized service center. If you decide to try fixing any problems that arise you should make sure it is within the scope of your abilities. Otherwise you could just make the problem worse.
